41 Years

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

So I went to get my hair cut today & got talking to a chap who has been married for 41 years, which in itself is amazing…But it really got me thinking! He mentioned how his Wedding Photographer didn’t capture many group shots (I totally though ‘old school’ meant loads of posed, group shots!, guess not..) & how much he & his wife regret not having more - Many couples don’t like the ‘traditional, group shots’  & most guests leave their smiles at home when the thought of group shots cross their min

Nick + Susan - 01.08.09 - Salt Lake Temple & The Point

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Nick and Susan had their wedding at the Salt Lake City Temple with a beautiful reception at The Point Restaurant inside the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The snow was melting and it was a rather warm day for January. Susan wore a beautiful bright red jacket at the temple and it was so nice to have a pop of color in the pictures. I also love her bird cage veil and ivory flower (from her mother’s original veil). The band was rocking at the reception and all of the bridesmaids were singing with th

Wedding of Matsuzawa & Nakajima at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

It’s been quite sometimes since we had a wedding in Pelangi Resort.  The wedding of Matsuzawa and Nakajima falls on the Chinese Lunar New Year and coincidence there was an eclipse of the sun here between 4pm - 7pm. Though it was expected that only partial eclipse could be seen from Malaysia all of us at the resort were excited. I managed to take some shots but this one I like most with a silhouetted of an eagle and the brush of a coconut tree against the sky. Photo was taken at 5.36pm with an

{ Elizabeth + Minho | Los Angeles Wedding Photography }

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

You wouldn’t have believed it if you hadn’t seen it yourself. It had been dark and gloomy all morning - rainy in fact, with light drizzles pattering our windshield as Scott and I drove to Elizabeth & Minho’s wedding. The cloudy weather continued as Elizabeth’s bridesmaids rushed around her in her home, helping fasten her dress and adorn her with jewels, it continued as we drove over to the church, even as we walked over to the nearby park for their first look. And that’s when it happened -

Bouquet

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

A couple of summers ago I caught these shots at Lisa’s wedding and you can see Tanah here jumping excitedly in the lineup of single gals to catch the bouquet. Well, as you can see in the next shot, she caught it. The moral of this story is that yesterday, I sat down with Tanah and her fiance to talk about her wedding photography needs for this coming August. Maybe it is true about catching the bouquet after all…I am looking forward to working with her because she has such great energy. We ar

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

“So now ya know!” WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY: first-come, first-served industry standardI recently read an article on wedding photography shopping. Bit by bit, I’m going to explain my experience with their points.Start your search for a wedding photographer as soon as possible, because you’ll find professional photographers book on a first-come, first-served basis (generally up to 1-year out).
