Hannah and Alex were married at St Mary’s Church in Woolaton and had their first reception in the church hall, followed by a meal at Hart’s Hotel in Nottingham. They had a great day surrounded by friends and family. This is officially ‘The Wedding with the Most Locations of 2008′ as I travelled from the guys getting ready, to the girls, to the church (and church hall) and then onto Hart’s Hotel! All very worth it though as I hope you agree. This is Hannah’s dad’s first

I photographed Julie and Adam in Portland last week- we started in the Old Port and then headed over to Fort Williams Park. It was a beautiful day, and they are such a fun couple! Here are a few of my faves:

On Saturday I headed to Gotham City…I mean Downtown Los Angeles to photograph the wedding of two extremely fun people. No, it wasn’t really Wonder Woman and Batman, but Rachel and Zach. The superhero couple exchanged vows at the ever so cool Cicada. The art deco/gothic feel to the location lent itself to the vibe that Rachel and Zach wanted to create for their guests. It truly felt as if we were all in a Gotham City hall and that at any moment Robin, The Boy Wonder would stand up and toast the

Last Friday I photographed the wedding of Krista and Dennis in Rancho Palos Verdes at the Wayfarers Chapel.. It was a gorgeous day for this very laid back couple and I couldn’t have had a better time. Krista is the sister of one of my former brides and I felt so honored to be a part of another Smock family wedding. Dennis, an Irishman, is the nicest guy and a perfect match for Krista! When they look into each other’s eyes you can just feel the love between them. And their families are adorable.

The disposable camera. Sounds like a great plan, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not that easy. I just went to a wedding where there was a camera on each table and an argument ensued where half the table knew what it was, and the other half swore someone left it there and it wasn’t for the table’s use. What to do. Your best bet. Make sure you put a poem or limmerck with the candle indicating it is for taking pictures. Many people write their own poems such as those that we put below that basically expla

Beautiful singer/songwriter Nelly Furtado finally confirmed she is officially off the market since she married sound engineer Demacio “Demo” Castellon back in July. “We got married July 19th,” she said. “I love it.” The singer continued, “It’s a nice phase of my life. I just feel kind of free and relaxed and more in tune with trying [...]

Wedding photo albums may not have changed much over the years but newer methods of displaying them are being invented all the time. The modern photo albums contain portraits of the bride alone with her dress arranged for the picture; her mother’s album probably has a similar picture and there may even be a close [...]

This time last year, we were goofing off in Piedmont park with Tina and Andy shooting their engagement photos, and by the end of the day we were knocking back cocktails at Park Tavern like old friends. When they asked us to shoot their wedding, we were completely jazzed. They got hitched October 11 at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church? in Marietta and then celebrated with friends and family at Founder’s Hall in Historic Roswell. And at the end of the night, they made a surprise

I’ve not had much to say lately, I’m not sure what the problem is. I sit down to write something and my mind goes blank, then I get distracted and never get around to it. Hopefully that will be over soon. In the meantime, I had another photo shoot the other day. This time it was engagement photos for my sister-in-law and her fiance. The sun was very harsh but I think we made the best of it. You do what you can when you’ve only got specific days you can do things on, ya know. Here’s some of my
