Last Friday was the wedding day for Jesika and Art. Jesika and Art are a young and fun couple. I was lucky to know them through Stacy Gavino of Cherishing Moments. We started the day at a downtown men’s only hair studio for the guys’ shaving party. Yeah, guys got pampered (and their nails polished). Then we headed to Hotel 1000 (a very cool hotel) where the ladies were already there. But since Jesika and Art didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, we made sure there was on accidenta

I’ve gotten a bit behind on updating my blog in the busiest part of the year. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking Ruthie and Akilah’s engagement photos in Oakland’s Union Point Park along the Oakland waterfront. Here are their favorites from the shoot. Their wedding is tomorrow and it’s my first African-Amerian-Jewish-Christian-GLBT wedding and I’m really looking forward to it!

To those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving, we hope you enjoyed a wonderful long weekend! The weather was fabulous, sunny and warm! Fall is by far my most favourite season and we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to soak in the end of summer one last time. Although we worked most of the weekend and had a wedding to shoot at the Hilton Lac Leamy, we managed to take Monday off. It was a perfect day of cleaning our garage up for the winter, playing outside all day, and hanging out with fr

Stephanie and Craig were married at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport.  The fall colors were gorgeous and the sun actually came out, making it a beautiful fall day!  Here are a few of my favorites: For some reason, this image cracked me up.  I think it was because I love it when people rock out to 80s tunes at weddings- it reminds me of high school (and for the record, I graduated high school in 1995, NOT in the 80s- we just had an unbelievable love for 80s tunes

Is the Quality of the Engagement Ring Really that Important? The quality of the ring means the quality of the stone, the setting and the band. As with any jewelry, the quality is an entirely subjective consideration and needs to be worked out by individual couples. However, the ring will last longer and be more attractive if the quality is high. Furthermore, many people view their engagement rings as testaments of their love

Choosing a wedding photographer, and questions to ask. October 16, 2008 – 9:28 am Choosing your wedding photographer can range from a daunting, to a seriously insane process. Some couples get lucky. They pick up a student fresh out of college, and he does an amazing job. Or on the flip side, you pick a seasoned pro to photograph your wedding. They charge you an arm and a leg (and a kidney, and spleen) and you’re not really impressed by the photos. Maybe the photos lack the ‘pop’ you were looki

Waterloo Engagement Photography October 4, 2008 – 8:59 am Becker always says he tries to show up to weddings and engagement shoots like he’s an old friend with a fancy camera. (His website - His wedding photography packages start at about $10 000) Well, I didn’t have to pretend on Friday for Justin and Lindsay’s engagement session. It was pretty cold out, so we started at Starbucks with some grande tea’s. From there, we headed over towards Seagram Lofts, because I’ve always loved the shutt

The Oxford Thames Four Pillars was the venue for the wedding celebration of Ben & Jennifer on Saturday 27th September. As you’ll be able to tell from the pictures, this was a military wedding and both Ben & Jennifer serve in the RAF. The weather was glorious and reminds me of a post I stuck on a pro-wedding photographers’ forum that I am a member of. I asked the question “which month would you get married in” and the winner was the month of September closely followed by October. The sun
